Week 10 once more provided excitement, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any Sunday can bring surprises' saying that attracts so many people into the NFL

This outcome could have created things up for the New England Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a remaining games that provides them an edge over their 8-2 rivals

Over in the NFC the Seattle Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a major confrontation in week 11, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the Most Valuable Player award

The Breakdown - Just a Bad Day for the Bills?

Josh Allen in action
Was Josh Allen attempt too much or could it simply have been a poor performance for the Bills?

Was it just an emotional comedown from defeating Kansas City the previous week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address

The Buffalo squad had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the start as the Miami team ran out 30-13 winners in an eye-opening outcome - and performance

MVP Josh Allen only got the squad's opening first down in the third period and first points in the final quarter - yes Miami had ten days to get ready but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the NFL's top offences

Tua Tagovailoa threw two scores but rusher De'Von Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 combined yards and two touchdowns

Bottling up the league's best running game was also key, with Cook and company registering just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and just over fifty percent their 161.5-yard season average

Then there were the three critical ball losses, and the two from Josh Allen in particular. An interception in the scoring area resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his final quarter dropped ball that the Dolphins turned into a touchdown just later

It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they hurt themselves in the foot, falling into a deficit on defense and Allen trying to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the calm, controlled, well-balanced Buffalo team we've witnessed this season

The Dolphins have served up a varied performances this year so the verdict is uncertain on whether this is the beginning of something, but for Buffalo they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a tough game against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the Patriots are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East

Spotlight - New England Identify Route to Unexpected First Place

Regarding the New England, they're one of three different eight and two squads in the league, all AFC sides, but could they be the top team?

One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and the Colts actually for feasting on the weaker opponents, with just five of their total 24 wins achieved against opponents with a positive record - and one of those was the Colts beating the Denver

The Broncos defeated the champion Eagles in Philly and are masters of the fourth-quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Jonathan Taylor, but the New England including Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration

Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Vrabel's first three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, since then - but taking down Mayfield after the Buccaneers had a bye to prepare was significant

Drake Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he definitely deserves credit for courage after taking some savage hits in Tampa but persevering to steer his team to victory

The defensive unit is reliable and first-year rusher Henderson burst onto the scene on game day with 147 yards and two exciting scores of fifty-five and sixty-nine yards - becoming just the fifth different runner to exceed 22mph this year on his first score

While you can argue who 'the top team' is technically, the Patriots should be favourites to finish with the top record thanks to their schedule - which includes just a single matchup against a successful opponent, albeit a huge one against the Bills

Visiting Baltimore is also tough, but Denver have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Los Angeles Chargers (who might also challenge for first place but encounter the identical challenge) and also the Packers on the schedule

The Colts also play the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the 5-4 Jacksonville to contend with. There's a considerable distance to go but the door is open for a surprise number one position in the American Football Conference

Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Week 11 Showdown

Both squads with strong arguments to be better than all of the three 8-2 teams are NFC West opponents the Seattle and Rams, who both scored 40 burgers to go to seven and two ahead of next week's major game between the two in LA

Both have secured four victories in a consecutive games, have signal callers in Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an elite level (although Darnold had ball security problems on game day) with top receivers, and defenses giving up under 20 points a game

Both could easily be undefeated as too - especially the Los Angeles as their pair of losses occurred in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philadelphia when they had a game-winning kick with the final play blocked and run back by the Philadelphia for a score

Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a late touchdown in the opening week, before losing to the last kick of the contest against the Buccaneers - so they're genuinely two of the best sides in the league

The upcoming game on Sunday could be the best of the year to date

Player of the Week - Jonathan Taylor
