Barça Set to Play Inaugural Match at Renovated Camp Nou on Saturday

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years since relocating to allow renovations to start.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. After final construction, it will accommodate close to 105,000 fans, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.

Preparatory Events

The club conducted a public practice at the Camp Nou in early November. They mentioned they are seeking authorization by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at Camp Nou. Previous fixtures took place in the temporary ground.
